1 millionth vehicle of SAIC MAXUS rolled off the assembly line at its Wuxi manufacturing base in China

As a new SUV D90 drove off the assembly line, the Wuxi Manufacturing Base of SAIC MAXUS China welcomed the 1 millionth vehicle to roll off the assembly line on the afternoon of March 6.

SAIC MAXUS Wuxi Manufacturing Base is the first enterprise with an output value of 10 billion yuan in Huishan District, Wuxi. It has maintained a high-speed growth at a compound growth rate of 55% for 13 years. Its products cover light commercial vehicles, MPVs, pickups, SUVs and new energy series, and are sold to 73 countries and regions around the world. In particular, in 2023, the manufacturing base completed a total of 163,000 vehicle manufacturing tasks, with overseas sales reaching 84,000 units, accounting for more than 54%, achieving simultaneous growth in domestic and overseas sales.

At present, SAIC MAXUS is accelerating the launch and construction of its new energy vehicle and GST series product production, R&D and facility upgrade projects in Wuxi, and plans to put the first model into production in the second half of this year.

Relevant person in charge of SAIC MAXUS said that SAIC MAXUS will layout new regions, expand new capabilities, accelerate a new round of product research and development, and promote the implementation of new business models in accordance with SAIC Group's "Three-Year Action Plan for the Development of New Energy Vehicles", making new contributions to the high-quality economic development of Wuxi, China in a diversified way.
